OLD BULL - Americana Music

Letter from Eric
Where we are at and what we are doing
The present moment in the life of the Bull is one of reflection. Lately each of our members has been kept excruciatingly busy with all kinds of non-Bull pursuits. Some of you may not know that 3 out of 5 members have other bands which keep them really busy, (Dylan and Pete are in Los Duggans and Steve is in Killing Cassanova, as well as several other bands because he is a musical beer-whore.) In addition, Dylan and myself have created a new magazine called FarWest Almanac (http://www.myspace.com/farwestalmanac) which is another big workload. Nevertheless we continue to generate new songs and have been introducing them in our live sets, and have had some great shows lately including the Ink N Iron Festival (pictures posted- thanks to Jorge Vargas www.jmvfoto.com). We just added a bunch of dates for the next couple of months from LA to OC to Topanga, and we are really looking forward to these being some of our best shows/ parties yet.
It feels good to be kept so busy doing the things we love to do. When I look back over the last several years I can't help but feel proud of what we have done thus far on our journey as a group. It also makes me proud to see all the side projects of our members doing well and the magazine generating so much interest, because our ethos has always been to do everything we can to nurture the community and not just ourselves.
The amount of work it takes just to keep a band together, let alone thrive, is kind of crazy, but somehow we have all demonstrated the capacity to weather the storm and continue to grow and progress. I can't help but feel thankful for all the amazing things we have seen and experienced. We are now looking forward to creating a bunch of new songs and recording some new tracks. Ever forward thru the madness...
